Fabric ID help!

Hi there, I could really use your help. I was wondering if you could tell me what type of material was used for the purple joker overcoat and what type of material was used for the green vest. Someone that was able to see the vest up close, feels that the vest is not wool, that it was thin and cloth like…if that helps. Also, what colour would you consider that vest and overcoat to be. Thanks again for this.

Washing White Sheer Curtains

I have washed my white sheer curtains .They still look gray and dingy. Any suggestions as to how I can whiten and brighten them. Thank you —Linda Hi Linda, you can try soaking them in hot water and OxiClean®, then launder with more OxiClean® and detergent. that’s my only suggestion! Jennifer

Can I remove dark blue color from 100% cotton?

I have a question, I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but, I’ll give it a shot. Okay, so I bought some Corduroy fabric that was dark blue, 100% cotton. My local fabric stores were limited on there supplies, and I needed the material to only be a few shades lighter. So, I tried dye remover, since it had worked in the past. I used a test piece but to my surprise, the material turned into a orange with in a few seconds. I tried to think to myself, what could of possibly gone wrong? Larissa wrote: “Then, the thought dawned on me that the material could possibly been a purple blue? In nervousness of the thought of wasting money I just spent, I took my pre-cut material to soak in some hot water to take the excess original dye off. It lightened up a little bit. To give it that blue hue I wanted, i then dyed the fabric in teal-blue, then hung it to dry. It did in fact lighten it up a bit. but I still need it a bit lighter. I think maybe if I hung it out in the sun for a day or two the fabric might get a little lightened up? Any suggestions? I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time. =)”
