Can well water stained clothing be dyed to correct the damage?

We have well water with high iron content that has left several machine washed favorite blouses and tops with pink/apricot streaking and “ring around the collar”.  Can dying these items correct this damage?  Would dharma trading company procion work on 100% cotton items and would iDye work on a cream 92% cotton 8% elastic top and a 53% rayon 35% nylon 6% spandex 6% polyester white blouse?  Do you have any other suggestions if this won’t  work?  Thank you.

  1. I really don’t know if dyeing will correct this mineral-stain damage. I would start with the procion dyes on your all cotton items & the cotton-elastic item. The other piece, your white blouse – I don’t have much hope for overdyeing this.
    Did you try oxyclean?
    Good luck,
