Dyeing Slipcover For Ottoman and Chair

I am interested in dyeing my slipcover to my chair and ottoman. It is a denim fabric that has faded to a very light blue and is pretty sad looking. I have never done this before and have no idea where to start or what product to buy. I would like to dye it red. do you have any advice or suggestions? Thanks. Carlene Weaver

Hi Carlene,
You might be able to dye or over dye the slipcover, but it won’t be red. Please read my article on Fabric Dyeing 101 to get the basics. If it will fit in your washing machine, you can try it using the supplies at www.dharmatrading.com or www.prochemical.com. If it’s too big for that, consult with Sherry at www.fabricdyeing.com.
best!

I want to dye a cotton slipcover in a print fabric for a wing chair which turned it into an armchair.  It like the pattern, but I need it to be green where it is now blue.  it also has pink and other colours.  If I just use RIT in a green shade and follow the instructions for machine dying, will it work to change the shade —  i am not fussy except I want to lose the blue and pick up some green.  Can I do this?  I so appreciate any help.
