Scotch guarding nightmare?

We had our new furniture scotch guarded and our special design fabric faded 3 to 4 shades darker! Should this happened? We hate our new furniture look! Please help us, we searched and found the scotch company on the web.

Thanks

I am so sorry that this happened to you!  Who applied the ScotchGuard?

Peachtree Carpet Cleaning.  They said that they do scotch guarding on fabrics.  She came out and read what the fabric was and said her chemicals would not hurt our new sofa.  We were waiting on a special order pillow to come in, in the same fabric and when it did about a week after we had the sofa scotch guarded, we noticed that the sofa and ottoman were several shades darker than the pillow.  We had the manufacture send us a sample of the fabric and a new pillow just to make sure they were the same color.  They were the same color.

We signed no disclamimer and did not receive an invoice.  She did not do a spot check.  She just came in and read the label and started spraying.  Do you think we have a chance in small claims court?  This is a brand new sofa.

Have you contacted Peachtree Carpet Cleaning to see if there is a remedy?  The usual proceedure is to test the ScotchGuard on a hidden area to make sure it won’t change the color and texture.  Other than any remedies that they can offer, there isn’t much you can do.  Sorry.

In addition to my post and question above, is it the policy that they should do a spot check before proceeding?
