Beautiful Cape Made From Madagascar Spider Silk on DisplayAmazing cape made from the silk of over 1 million spiders is on display in London. The Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum in London is showing the cape through June of this year.

The yellow color is the natural color of the Golden Orb-Weaver spider’s silk. The brocade fabric for the cape took almost 10 years to make; 5 years for 80 people to collect the silk and 4 years to weave the cape and a shawl.

Unfortunately, this nearly priceless fabric isn’t commercially viable, but it sure is neat to look at! More info in this article and video:
