Bleached Out Furniture

Hello I purchased a sofa/chair matched set about 2 years ago. The problem is one of the pieces got a stain on it that slightly bleached out the furniture. I can not replace this piece as the fabric is no longer available. It is mico fiber charcoal grey. Can I do anything to try to make the discoloration less? Thank you Michele

I am sorry, I don’t know any way that this can be fixed. You will have to get the whole unit reupholstered.

I just purchased a brand new sofa and there are little prickly fibers that are sticking out all over the couch (every few inch). I pulled out a few of these prickly fibers and they look like stiff pieces of straw.

Honestly, sitting on the couch in shorts or a t-shirt is an entirely uncomfortable experience.  It feels like sitting on a ton of splinters.

The fabric we chose was a 60-40 blend of linen and synthetic fibers. The swatch we felt at the store was smooth and soft, while the material on this couch is rough and abrasive.  Any thoughts on how these pieces of straw became woven into the fabric? Also, any suggestions on how to soften the fabric or mechanically remove these prickly fibers?

    Thanks for your help.

Melissa, have you contacted the store where you purchased the sofa?  The manufacturer?  Softening or removing the stiff fibers may not be the answer.  It sounds like the upholstry fabric has some flaws.
