As a known historical clothing buff and book collector, at least to my friends, I’m given books on occassion that it will take me some time to get around to reading. I finally got around to reading one that has been on my shelves that I am just adoring. Given to me by a dear friend who shares my passion for movie costumes. The book is called Dressed A Century Of Hollywood Costume Design By Deborah Nadoolman Landis. This book covers every year since moving pictures started. Did you know that actors were the costume designers in the beginning of the movie era. Costumes came out of the actors closets or were made by the actors themselves. This book is chalk full of photos of clothing from the earliest days right up to the modern movies and the big stars. I know you’ll just love thumbing through the pages.
