I was reading your Dizzy lettuce sites’ dying fabric section. I was wondering what you thought of dying a 100% (good quality) light green silk dress black. There’s no zippers and the trim could easily be replaced if it doesn’t take the color in the right way.

Hi Kat,
This is possible, but challenging. Black is the hardest color to get, plus you risk shrinkage and twisting. Also, the thread with which it is sewn will remain green. If you want to consult with the professionals you can contact Sherry at www.fabricdyeing.com.
