Dear Andy,
For a while now I have been looking for some kind of satin that is relatively heavy-weight, but with a high luster. You would think that sounds easy enough, but fabric retailers all seem to have contradicting definitions for “duchesse satin”, “baroque satin”, “crepe backed satin”, “slipper satin” etc etc. Oh, and here’s the kicker: It would be nice if it didn’t cost 1 first born son per yard.

Dear Susan: Try a theatrical supply house. There are many different types of Satin. You may be better off searching for the fabric based on it’s use, I.E., Bridal Satin, slipper satin, tricot satin. Happy Shopping and GOOD LUCK (caps on purpose based upon your email address). Andy
