Oil Stains In Jacket

I recently bought a white down jacket to be dry cleaned because it had some dirt stains on the sleeve. When I received the jacket back, the dry cleaner pointed out light bluish purplish dots all over the jacket. She said this was from the oils of the down bleeding through the jacket, and that this is a common problem with white down jackets. Is this true or was she lying to me? Is there any way to get this jacket back to its original white color? Please advice.

Hi Fred,
Andy is out of the office for several days and asked that we answer his emails.

Take the down jacket back to the store where you purchased it and ask them if the dots are from the down oil. Most down jackets are labeled wash only, do not dry clean, so check your label. Dry cleaning can remove the natural oils from the down and dry out the feathers.
