I have a pair of linen trousers which are stained. I had them dry cleaned which it says on the label but the stain has not come out and so they cannot be worn as they are at present. The dry cleaners say they will not use any stain removing product on them as it might harm the garment and they will not take responsibility. Do you think I could try a stain removing product on them at home trying hard to restrict it to the area of the stain, rinse it and then take them back to be dry cleaned again or will I ruin them completely. The trousers are cream colored so the stain shows quite badly. If you have any other suggestions I would be pleased to hear them.
