I recently bought some expensive cotton dress shirts that are too big for me. I would like to shrink them a little bit. Do you have any ideas. I heard that washing in very hot water would do the trick. Hot tumble dry too possibly?

Dear Colin: If they are expensive and even if they were not, I’d suggest you bring them to a local tailor and have them altered to fit. Nothing you can do, except tailoring, will fix them for you. Good Luck, Andy
