I need to know which sofas(upholstery) are the best for toddlers and large pet dogs? I have heard that the micro-fiber material is good. We really live on our sofas and need something that will hold up well.

Sheila: WOOD is the answer.
But if you are having kids and dogs, consider that what you are buying now, won’t last, no matter what the fabric. At some point you will want to redecorate, anyway.
So go out, and buy what you like. Train the dogs to stay off the furniture, and teach the kids, not to eat on the furniture. The kitchen is for eating.
