What fabric?

I was wondering if you could tell me what type of fabric the dress Bridget Reagan wears in ‘the legend of the seeker’ is made from? (a ref image (if needed)- http://images2.fanpop.com/image/photos/9100000/Kahlan-kahlan-amnell-9182859-896-1450.jpg)

many thanks.

    Hi Baillie,
Could you attatch a better link. this one doesn’t work and I can’t get to the picture you want me to see. I have seen the movie a long time ago so if you can’t attatch a better link then maybe tell me which scene and I can look it up on IMDB. Thanks.

OK, so after a little hunting I found this blogger. http://chibirinoa.livejournal.com/148270.html#cutid1 BTW, I may become her biggest fan. From what I could tell, this gal is copying the dress from the tv series which is just like the one in the movie. And I mean exact. After looking at several of the photos and comparing them I would agree with the blogger that the dress is made out of something akin to a cotton sateen. It’s heavy and durable and would stand up to repeated cleanings and still keeps its sheen. There is still the possibility that it is made out of a short pile silk velvet but I don’t think so. It would be much more shiny and look thicker all over. It could also be a good quality poly-ultra suede, I am working with one now that is really nice. But that tends to look like it is a little pilly, although after several washings it could look like the one in the picture, however I am still leaning towards the cotton sateen or possibly a cotton sateen polyester blend. Durable and washable.Trsleaves I am assuming are a poly chiffon. Drapes nice and won’t change shape color or texture with cleaning.

Sorry bout the last couple sentences, had a little glitch in posting. What I was trying to say was that the trim on the drapy sleeves on the outfit (tv series) is a pretty generic trim. I have seen it at Joanne Fabrics as well as many other fabric stores. Can’t really tell on the one from the movie what the trim is. Hope that helps
