Hi, I’m on the absolute hunt for a cotton drill fabric that has been pre dipped in a non reactive dye, to make the fabric bleach resistant. I’m aware that companies do this for towel companies to make towels bleach resistant. Does anyone know where IĀ could get fabric that has already been treated and then made into cotton drill? Any help would be amazing

Hi Donna,
I was actually unaware that companies treated their towel materials with something that resists bleach. This is new information to me. I will have to do some research. As far as I know those materials that are resistant to bleach are those that are man made and not natural materials like nylon and polyester even thought the newer micro polyesters will bleach. As far as I know any applied treatment that can be washed off will not perminently do what it is designed to do. Cotton twill is cotton twill and will always be able to accept bleach. Too much bleach and you’ll destroy the fiber. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
Hi Donna, As with many of the home textiles this type of cotton drill may only be available to the towel companies and not available in yardage for individual use. Read more…
